Actually its an awesome swap motor. We have done lots of them in the past few years. We put one with 175K into a 79 F150 and she gets 17mpg on 33's. What most people dont know is the explorer motors have GT40 heads on them which are the same as on a lightning and a intake to match.

Technically, calling this a GT40 Intake Swap is incorrect unless you’re using a true GT40 upper and lower intakes. Either way, upgrading to a better flowing intake setup is a good way to increase horsepower on a Fox Body Mustang. There are a handful of aftermarket intake manifold sets available. Of course it’s not a real GT40; if you look closely it’s only a caricature at best. But it’s also not hundreds of thousands of dollars, either, and it does have a big block V8 engine!
